Are you post Coronavirus Technology Ready?

I do not consider myself a futurist but as a well-seasoned and longtime entrepreneur, I do consider myself fairly capable of seeing what is ahead for business and industry.

The Coronavirus has told us that more than ever expect the unexpected. This especially rings true as it relates to technology. Simply stated some business will survive the coronavirus pandemic and some will not. For those that did not, there will be a significant percentage that will trace back to not having the right technology, processes, and procedures in place. In many of those cases we need to be blunt and just say that prior to the pandemic either technology wasn't considered vital and was given short shrift or there were other budget priorities such as sales, marketing and, advertising.

While I may not be a futurist, I am a realist, and this is what I know for sure.

  • The coronavirus will diminish over time whether it be via vaccine, safe-distancing, more enhanced personal and office cleanliness or a combination of all of these things and perhaps others.

  • Some employees will not return to the workplace after the “all clear” is given. Their decision may be due to fear, a decision to retire earlier than expected, or a choice to do something else in their life. As for the fear part, valuable employees may be able to be retained if they are allowed to continue to work from home. Will you have the right technology for them to do so?

  • Those businesses, nonprofit agencies and, government organizations not at least planning now to be better prepared in the future are playing Russian Roulette with their future and most likely will not survive another long-term situation that forces people to work from home for extended periods of time.

So, what should you be thinking about today? Here is a partial list.

  1. Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery

  2. VoIP Telephone Services

  3. Secure and Reliable Video Conferencing systems

  4. Safe Remote and Cloud Computing

  5. Easily Accessible File Sharing

  6. 24x7x365 Help Desk

  7. Selecting the right computer hardware moving forward

  8. Cybersecurity Protection and Threat Detection Training

We can help with all of this and more and the first step is a no-charge, no-obligation consultation. If you are ready to transform your technology from reactive to proactive, we invite you to contact us today.

As much as I love this quote (“if you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!”) from Benjamin Franklin I will instead close with this quote from William Gibson, “The future is already here-it’s just not evenly distributed.” You, the reader of this blog post can change that since ultimately you control the technology distribution channel for your business, nonprofit agency or government organization.

Be well, stay safe, and God Bless you and yours.
